A principal of a leading school in Kuliyapitiya has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a 17-year old student yesterday (Feb 25).
The Principal was arrested after the student had filed a complaint claiming that she was subjected to sexual abuse at the staircase of the school building. The girl is a student of Grade 12.
The Kuliyapitiya OIC of the Police Child and Women Bureau had arrived at the school and had recorded witness statements from individuals.
The Principal is due to be presented before courts after obtaining a statement, police said.
