Three persons including two foreigners have been arrested for illegally transferring Rs 30 million of a private university and attempting to transfer another Rs 100 million to their accounts from the same university.
The complaint had been lodged by a private university located in Homagama.
Police said that the main suspect, a resident of Gampola had hacked into the University data system and transferred the funds to two accounts of foreigners.
He had made an attempt to transfer Rs 100 million more to the accounts.
The main suspect has been remanded until February 13 while the two foreigners arrested in Kollupitiya have been remanded until tomorrow.
