Lawyers representing Professor Sarath Wijesuriya informed the Appeal Court today (Aug 26) that they would file objections over a contempt of court lawsuit filed against their client.
Mr. Wijesuriya is accused of making defamatory cases against the judiciary against a court order issued to halt the screening of the film titled 'Usaaviya Nihandai' (Silence in Court).
Lawyer Sampath Vijith Kumara had moved court against the civil activist.
During today's hearing, appeal court judge Achala Wengappuli ordered the defendants to file objections before November 21, and announced that the case would be taken up for further hearing on November 25.
