Proposal for Air Force to take over Neville Fernando Hospital

A proposal has been made for the Sri Lanka Air Force to take over the Neville Fernando Hospital in Malabe. The hospital was initially under the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) prior to being transferred to the government.  

Approximately 900 students of SAITAM were absorbed to the Sir John Kothalawala Defence University recently.  

Accordingly, Cabinet yesterday approved a proposal to appoint a committee to consider and negotiate the proposal to take over Dr. Neville Fernado Hospital to the Sri Lanka Air Force. President Maithripala Sirisena presented the proposal in his capacity as Minister of Defence.
