A protest is being staged against the proposed Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant agreement outside the US Embassy in Colombo today (Nov 6).
A group styling itself as the 'Stop USA Association' engaged in the protest holding placards which read 'MCC is a Cancer' and 'America, leave us alone'.
The agreement which would see USD 400 million being granted for development projects, has come under heavy criticism, after the government said it would be signed before the presidential election.
However, ruling party presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa yesterday said that the agreement would be signed only after being debated in Parliament, after the poll.
