Protest against Vigneswaran held in Vavuniya

A protest against certain statements made by Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran took place this morning in Vavuniya town. The protest demonstration was organized by a collective of organizations led by the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) and Ravana Balaya. 

The protestors demanded the Northern CM's resignation over several statements he had made which they claimed were inciting racial hatred against Sinhala Buddhists. They also maintained that his statements were in violation of the Constitution and that he should be arrested. 

The protestors later went to hand over a petition to the Vavuniya District Secretary. 

BBS General Secretary Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera and Ravana Balaya Convenor Ven. Iththakande Saddhatissa Thera were among the Buddhist monks who led the demonstration.
