All post offices have been instructed to accept parcels which are packaged only in the presence of an official at their respective post offices, postmaster Ranjith Ariyaratne said.
The postmaster cautioned the public that they maybe required to remove the packaging of parcels packed outside before bringing it for delivery. Parcels of this nature might also be refused at times, the post master noted.
Accordingly, the public has been requested to pack their parcels within post offices while also taking steps to establish the identity of the receiver.
