The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) will launch a special hotline on Monday that would facilitate the public to provide complaints over power failures experienced over the last two weeks.
Complaints received via this hotline will be used to conduct a survey with the motive of launching an early warning system for power outages.
The decision to launch the hotline was made since the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) had not provided the PUCSL with adequate information to develop this early warning system, a PUCSL official said.
Accordingly, it is suspected that the CEB was in the process of carrying out unscheduled power cuts during the last few days.
