Police Chief Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando have been remanded until November 6 upon orders issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's court.
Jayasundara and Fernando have been charged by the Attorney General (AG) for their failure to prevent the Easter Sunday attacks despite having prior information on the incident.
Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris appearing for the AG, today told Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage sitting in for Chief Magistate Lanka Jayaratne, that investigations into the bank accounts of the suspects were still underway.
He had requested court to move hearings of the case to another magistrate from Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne, before whom the case is being heard.
