The writ quo warranto petition filed against the premiership of Mahinda Rajapaksa will be taken up before the Appeal Court today (Dec 03).
A hearing on the petition was held last Friday before a three member judge bench of the Court of Appeal.
The writ petition was filed by parliamentarians of the UNP including Ranil Wickremesinghe, the TNA, JVP and the SLMC claiming that Mahinda Rajapaksa cannot remain as Prime Mininster since he had not proven his majority in Parliament.
