Railway drivers will launch an indefinite strike from midnight tomorrow (Mar 05), Railway Locomotive Engine Drivers Union (RLEDU) Secretary D H Indika said.
He claimed that the decision made by railway officials to recruit twelve railway drivers who were above the ages of 45 was a departure from due procedure.
Accordingly, he said that the strike would be held as a mark of protest against that move.
However, the RLEDU Secretary expressed his regret over the inconveniences that would be face by the people as a result of the strike.
