The Special High Court has announced that the D A Rajapaksa memorial museum case will be heard daily from October 15.
Accordingly, notices were issued on the accused to appear before court during the next hearing.
The Attorney General, prosecuting the case, requested court to hear the case after October 1 since the Supreme Court has issued an interim order on hearing the case until that date.
Meanwhile, the accused informed court that they would continue to move their appeal at the Supreme Court since they are in disagreement with the amended charge sheet presented against them.
The seven accused which include former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa have appealed at the Supreme Court against the Special High Court's decision to overturn their objections on its jurisdiction to hear the case.
However, the prosecution informed court that they would continue the case against the suspects under the charge sheet which has been amended by removing the fifth charge against them.
The suspects have been accused of misappropriating state funds worth Rs 33.9 million in the construction of the D.A. Rajapaksa memorial museum.
The case was taken up before Justices Samapath abeykoon, Sampath Wijeratne, and Champa Janaki Rajaratna today (Aug 30).
