Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne has been asked to appear before a Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) today (Sept 24) to give evidence over a complaint concerning the Dr Neville Fernando Hospital.
A complaint has been filed at the Presidential Commission alleging that the government has been incurring expenses on behalf of the private hospital in Malabe without acquiring it.
The complaint has been filed by Government Medical Officer's Association (GMOA)'s General Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge.
Minister Senaratne was asked to appear before the Commission on two occasions last week, but had failed to do so citing a special cabinet meeting and certain pre-planned events.
