The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is to produce former Minister Rajitha Senaratne who was arrested today again over organizing a controversial news conference, Police said. The arrest came after Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne issued a fresh directive today cancelling an earlier bail conditions granted to him by the courts.
The revision motion filed by Attorney General (AG) opposing the bail granted to the former Minister was taken up for hearing today. Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakarathna declared the Order issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate in this regard today.
Earlier Mr Senaratne was arrested over organising a media briefing attended by two persons which included an individual claiming to be a "white van" driver during alleged abductions before 2015.
