Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Chairman Ramal Siriwardana tendered his resignation earlier today (Feb 26).
The letter of resignation was handed over to Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Arjuna Ranatunga.
Trade unionists and SLTB employees claim that the resignation was a result of undue influence that was exerted on the Chairman by higher officials of the Transport and Civil Aviation ministry.
