The oppostion leader Ranil Wickremasinghe today claimed that a group consisting of former military personnel working along with the army soldiers in service to disrupt the election or engaged in election malpractices in areas including North.
He said he was warning ex military personnels not to engage in such actions" but if they want they can wear blue 'T-shirt' and get involved in the campaign."
Mr Wickremasinghe was speaking in a meeting with the diplomats at Galadari hotel, added that he has taken up this issue with the Election Commissioner and international observers.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
