Addressing a media briefing a short while ago, ousted Prime Minister and United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said 122 MPs had signed the Motion of No-Confidence against Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He further added that Speaker Karu Jayasuriya had taken a vote on the No-Confidence Motion by voice and declared that the purported Government did not have a majority.
Mr Wickremesinghe said that if the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) disputes the ruling of the Speaker, they can submit a motion against it at tomorrow's Parliament sittings.
