UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe issuing a special address after being appointed as Prime Minister today (Dec 16) said that the current focus is to restore normalcy in the country.
“Unfortunately the developments in our country were hampered during the last three weeks” Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said while delivering the address at Temple Trees.
He also pledged that he would improve the socio-economic status of the country.
Further, Mr. Wickremesinghe said the people can be proud of the manner in which the judiciary and the Parliament had discharged its duties during the political impasse.
While stating that he would deliver a lengthy address in due course, the Prime Minister signed off by thanking all those who had supported him during the last few days.
