Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has called for a meeting with the parties forming the Democratic National Front (DNF) alliance, and all cabinet ministers today (Nov 17).
The meeting will take place at the Temple Trees at 5 pm.
Meanwhile, several ministers are expected to resign from their portfolios today, a source at the Prime Minister's Office said. The source noted that matters concerning the Premiership of Wickremesinghe will figure during the meeting.
This is because the Prime Minister can be removed from his post, only if he resigns or is removed by obtaining two thirds majority in Parliament.
Ruling party presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa, in a statement, had admitted defeat at the presidential election.
