All sections representing the Our Power of People Party (Ape Jana Bala Pakshaya) must come together to resolve the dispute regarding the National List seat won by the party, former MP Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thera told journalists today (13).
Addressing a media briefing in Colombo, Ven. Rathana Thera said there were various sections who were laying claim to the National List seat and submitting their own names to the Election Commission asking that they be appointed from the party to the seat.
Ven Rathana Thera added that being a former MP, he too was highly qualified to be appointed to the seat. He however, said it was something that all sections of the party should get together and discuss. This would enable them to decide on who is the most suitable person to serve in that role, he added.
