Chief Police Inspector Saman Rohana who was remanded over the recent alleged killings in Rathgama was ordered to be transferred to the Agunukolapelassa prison.
This was announced when the suspect was produced before Galle Magistrate Harshana Kekunuwela yesterday (Mar 15).
The order to transfer the suspect who was under custody at the Matara prison, was issued after the attorney representing Mr. Rohana had raised concerns on the safety of his client.
Court heard that the suspect’s life was in danger since there were certain conflicts developing between the suspects who have been arrested in connection with the incident.
IP Rohana, the former OIC of the Southern Special Crimes Investigations Unit was arrested as the fifth suspect in connection with the recent killings of two businessmen in Rathgama.
