The repatriation of Sri Lankans from overseas has been suspended until further notice as the quarantine centres have reached its full capacity, Army Commander Lt Gen Shavendra Silva said.
He said the suspension is likely to last for at least 10 days as more persons were coming in for quarantine locally following the outbreak at the Brandix factory.
However, he said that as soon as they can accommodate persons at the quarantine centres, the repatriation process will recommence.
Currently some 10,500 persons are being quarantined in 96 centres run by the military.
He said though some 150 persons left the quarantine centres yesterday about 300 were taken in.
