The resignation of Muslim ministers owing to pressure from "racists" is a "most unfortunate" incident, Tamil National Alliance Spokesman M A Sumanthiran was quoted saying in a tweet on his party's Twitter handle.
"Yesterday us, today you, tomorrow a new ‘other’," Parliamentarian Sumanthiran said in the tweet while explaining that the Muslims are being attacked just as the Tamils in the past.
He further called on the "right thinking Sri Lankans" to stand in solidarity with Muslim people.
Most unfortunate that Muslim Ministers succumbed to pressure from racists. Yesterday us, today you, tomorrow a new ‘other’. We continue to stand in solidarity with Muslim people & call on all right thinking SriLankans to do the same @MASumanthiran, Spokesman. #LKA #NoMoreRacism
