Road closures in Grandpass, Kotahena from tomorrow

Road closures will be in effect in the Grandpass and Kotahena areas from tomorrow (Oct 11) night due to water pipe laying projects, Police said.

The road closures are as follows ;

Section between Thotalanga Junction and Mahawatta Junction along Madampitiya Road

Timings of road closures

• 10 pm (October 11) until 05 am (October 14)
• 10 pm (October 18) until 05 am (October 21)
• 10 pm (October 25) until 05 am (October 28)

Alternative route: Travel towards Thotalanga Junction through Sirimavo Bandaranaike Mawatha after entering it from Clock Tower Junction

Section between Wasala Road junction and Wall Junction along Cyril C. Perera Mawatha

Timings of road closures

• 10 pm (October 11) until 05 am (October 14)
• 10 pm (October 18) until 05 am (October 21)
• 10 pm (October 25) until 05 am (October 28)

Alternative routes :

• Travel towards Madampitiya from Inguru Kade junction along Prince of Wales Avenue and then through Thotalanga junction
• Travel towards Madampitiya from Hettiyawaththa junction and Aluthmawatha Road.

From Kosgas junction to St Joseph's Place

Timings of road closure : 

• 10 pm (October 12) until 05 am (October 13)

Alternative routes :

• Travel through Parakrama Road or Leyards Broadway
