A rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), three landmines and other ammunition were discovered behind a restaurant in Kanagarayankulam, Vavuniya yesterday (Apr 29).
Police and Army intelligence officers who were acting upon a tip-off had discovered 36 bullets including those used to fire 9mm guns along with parts of weapons behind the restaurant which was located along the Jaffna-Kandy main road.
Several SIM cards, a notebook and a catelogue on operating weapons were also discovered along with the weapons and ammunition.
The owner of the restaurant owner and the explosives are due to be handed over to the Kanagarayankulam Police.
