RR Construction and Soltec have won the government's contract to expand landslide protection of the road network in the Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces.
The two companies, which have formed a joint venture, are currently engaged in such projects which are being carried out under two contract packages on a Rs 10 billion loan provided by Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Under the first package, ten locations in the Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa Provinces were earmarked while the second package covered six locations in the same Provinces.
Some of the areas listed under the second contract are Ambepussa, Haputale, Bandarawela, Uduwara, and Elle.
