The Litro Gas Lanka company suffered a loss of Rs. 146 million during the past 10 months. This was revealed when the case filed against a financial fraud in the Company was taken up for hearing before the Permanent High Court-at-Bar.
Accordingly, Chief Financial Officer of Litro Gas Lanka, Muditha Thamangama gave evidence today. He said that during the tenure of former president's chief of staff, Gamini Senarath as Chairman from 2010 -2014 the company reported a profit of Rs. 18 billion.
However, he said he had evidence that the company had reported a loss of Rs. 146 million over the past 10 months. President's Counsel, Ali Sabry, appearing on behalf of the defendant, responded during cross-examinations.
However, the witness said that the profit fell to Rs 10 billion during the period from 2014 to 2015. A further hearing is due to be held tomorrow.
