The Supreme Court today (Oct 30) ordered that the ruling on the petition challenging the President's decision to take over the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) through a gazette, will be announced on November 4.
Ven. Dambara Amila Thero and Professor Chandragupta Thenuwara petitioned court against the President's gazette to take over the SLRC, citing it as an illegal move.
They have sought an interim order to suspend the President's decision.
Court today declared that it would issue a ruling on whether an interim order would be imposed on the gazette, and also whether it would proceed with the case, during the next hearing.
The petition is being heard before Justices Buwaneka Aluvihare, Murdu Fernando, and S. Thurairajah.
