All national schools will remain closed until April 28 owing to the current situation in the country, Education Minister Akila VIraj Kariyawasam said.
Accordingly, schools will reopen for the second term on April 29, he said adding that this decision was made during a special discussion held between officals of the Education Ministry.
The second term of schools which was expected to begin on Monday was delayed by two days following the terrorist attacks which struck Sri Lanka last Sunday.
The government had declared yesterday and today as holidays for schools after having taken the situation of the country into consideration.
