Search on for escaped prisoners

A search operation has been launched to track down four prison inmates who escaped from the Kegalle Magistrate's Court today after assaulting a prison guard.

Initially, five prison inmates who were kept at a holding cell at the court premises had escaped after assaulting a prison guard. One of them had been apprehended during the escape attempt. However, the other four had managed to flee.
