A section of the Galle Road will be closed for traffic due to the annual perahera of the Modara Devalaya which would take place from 2 pm to 10 pm today (Sept 20).
Accordingly, vehicles travelling towards Ambalangoda through Galle Road have been advised to use alternative routes.
The alternative routes suggested by the Police are as follows :
Vehicles travelling from Colombo to Galle
Take the left turn from Sangaraja Temple junction, left turn from the Kapu Ela junction, right turn from the Bogaha Junction on Elpitiya road, right turn from Halwatura junction, right turn from Dhammakusala junction, and enter Galle Road.
Vehicles travelling from Galle to Colombo
Travel through Uruwatta junction and old Galle Road, take the left turn from Market Junction, travel across Marine Drive, enter Galle Road, and head towards Colombo.
