UPDATE: Police have confirmed that no explosive was found near the Kingsbury hotel contrary to earlier assumptions by security forces.
Our correspondent at the scene noted that a bike with a helmet and a jacket was subjected to inspection by the police a short while ago.
Explosive device found near the Kingsbury Hotel
An explosive device has been discovered on a bike in the vicinity of the Kingsbury hotel, security sources said.
Accordingly the area surrounding the hotel has now been cordoned off, according to security forces.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Ceylon, World Trade Centre, and the Galadari hotel have been evacuated.
