Uva Provincial C Minister Senthil Thondaman who was accused of assaulting a postman has surrendered to the Bandarawela Magistrate Courts today. Last week the Bandarawela Magistrate issued an arrest warrant on Thondaman who is charged of assaulting a postman distributing polling cards. The Magistrate ordered the police to remand him until January 26.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
