Senior security officials have warned that there was a serious security threat to Parliament, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya informed the House today (23).

The Speaker made the revelation while addressing a special session of Parliament convened in response to the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The Speaker told lawmakers that the warning about the threat was conveyed during a special meeting held in Parliament with senior security officials, including tri-forces commanders and the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
