A possible cyclonic storm might develop during next 12 hours in East of Sri Lanka and expected to move north-westward closer to Jaffna peninsula due to the depression in the South-west Bay of Bengal that has developed into a deep depression and now located around 480km away from Trincomalee coast, to the east of Sri Lanka (located approximately 8.4N, 86.3E), Department of Meteorology said today.
It is likely cross North Tamil Nadu coast on 01st December mid night. Under the influence of the above system very strong winds and heavy showers are expected in the Northern, Eastern and North-central provinces, until 02nd December.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, Eastern and North-central provinces.Heavy falls (more than 100 mm) can be expected at some places.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Western, North-Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces.
