President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (Feb 08) claimed that several individuals are now willing to take credit over the arrest of drug lords and organised criminals in Dubai.
The President said that it was important to be satisfied with only what we have done instead of being happy about what other countries have achieved.
He made these remarks while drawing reference to a media report which cited a Minister who claimed that the trap to arrest drug racketeer 'Makandure madush' was set up several years ago.
"News reports on the arrest of Sri Lankan underworld criminals in Dubai have taken the media by storm over the last few days" remarked Mr. Sirisena adding that there are several people who claim that they were behind the arrest of these suspects.
Further, President Sirisena added that he saw a media report in which a Minister had said that the STF had played a main role in the arrest of the suspects.
"A person should be happy over what he/she has done and not on what others have done" the President quipped.
