SLFP Youth Front Leader Shantha Bandara took oaths as an MP in Parliament a short while ago. He replaces the seat left vacant by the resignation of M.L.A.M Hisbullah, who stepped down from his position after being appointed as Governor of the Eastern Province.

SLFP Youth Front Leader Shantha Bandara took oaths as an MP in Parliament a short while ago. He replaces the seat left vacant by the resignation of M.L.A.M Hisbullah, who stepped down from his position after being appointed as Governor of the Eastern Province.
Mr Bandara will represent the UPFA in Parliament.
Earlier, the Elections Commission issued an extraordinary gazette notification declared that Mr. Bandara has been appointed as a parliamentarian to fill the vacancy created by Mr Hisbullah.
