Shashi further remanded till March 4

Wife of former Minister Wimal Weerawansa was remanded further till March 4 by the Colombo Magistrate, this afternoon (Feb 25). The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Shashi Weerawansa at a private hospital in Malabe recently on charges of submitting forged documents to obtain a diplomatic passport. Permission was sought yesterday by Prison authorities from court to transfer the suspect from the private hospital to remand custody.
