A shooting has been reported at the premises of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation´s Dematagoda Head Office, Police said.
A tense situation is said to have erupted when a group of individuals arrived at the head office following the arrival of MP Arjuna Ranatunga. It is reported that one individual attempted to strike the Minister when his security officer opened fire.
Two individuals have sustained injuries in the shooting, Police Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara, said.
The injured have been admitted to the National Hospital.
