One person has been injured following a shootout between STF personnel and two poachers at the Udawalawe National park this morning (Oct 31).
Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that one poacher was injured and admitted to tthe Karapaitiya Teaching hospital.
Meanwhile, the T56 assault rifle that was in the possession of the poachers has been seized by the STF.
The government today granted permission for an Iranian warship with 208 on board to enter the country.
