Popular restaurant and pub 'Shore By O' in Mount Lavinia has been closed until further notice after a major fire swept through the premises in the early hours of Monday (7). The restaurant announced the closure on its official Facebook yesterday.
According to Police media Unit, the Mount Lavinia Police had been informed at about 2.15am on Monday that the restaurant, located along College Avenue, Mount Lavinia, was on fire. Officers from the Mount Lavinia Police as well as the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Fire Brigade arrived at the site and eventually doused the fire.
There were no deaths or injuries from the fire and the cause is yet to be determined. The damage caused by the fire was still being assessed, police added.
The Sunday Times also attempted to contact the management of 'Shore By O' for further details but there was no response from the phone number listed on their Facebook page.
