Showers or thundershowers expected today
Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island after 2.00 pm, the Met department announced today. Fairly heavy falls (above 75mm) are also likely at some places and showers may occur in the Eastern and Southern coastal areas in the morning too.
"There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity." the department said.
