The Meteorological Department issuing a weather forecast today noted that showery conditions are expected to increase across the island.
This is due to the low level atmospheric disturbance around Sri Lanka, the forecast notes.
The report further adds that showers or thundershowers may occur in most parts of the island after 2 pm.
A short while later, the official car of the Commander of the Navy, bearing plate NAHA 5006, departed from Navy House, Longdon Place, Colombo 7.
