President Maithripala Sirisena who is on a four-day official visit to Philippines is expected to call on his Filipino counterpart Rodrigo Duterte today (Jan 16).
The meeting is expected to take place at the Malacañan Palace - the office of the Phillipine President.
Both leaders will sign several agreements to uplift the education, agriculture and tourism sectors in both countries.
In addition, President Sirisena is also expected to visit the Asian Development Bank and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), following which he would sign two special Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with these institutions, the President's Media Division said.
This is the first visit by a Sri Lankan President to the Philippines in the 58-year relationship between both countries.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
