Six Indian fishermen who were allegedly poaching in Sri Lanka's territorial waters have been arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy. The suspects were arrested north of Kovilan yesterday by personnel from a Fast Attack Craft belonging to the navy's Northern Command.
The suspected poachers were taken into custody along with their vessel and fishing gear.
The fishermen are due to be handed over to the Jaffna Assistant Fisheries Director for onward legal action.
