The Ministry of Health issued a gazette notification on COVID 19 related regulations along with possible jail terms and fines for violations. The regulations are gazetted under Sections 2 and 3 of the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance (Chapter 222).
The gazette made it mandatory for persons to wear masks at all times when in public and maintain social distancing of not less than one meter between two persons.
According to the gazette notification, any person who violates the gazetted health guidelines will be subject to a fine of not more than Rs. 10,000, with or without a prison sentence of six months, approved by the Judiciary. The gazette can be accessed here.
