A group of six police officers were assaulted while carrying out a raid at Teldeniya, Girandurukotte Police said.
The attack occurred at around 4.30 pm last evening (Sept 16). The two police constables were admitted at the Mahiyangana base Hospital having sustained injuries during the incident.
One suspect was arrested while operations are underway to apprehend the other suspects.
Girandurukotte police are conducting further investigations on the incident.
