The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has commenced constructing more isolation wards at the IDH to treat those infected with COVID-19.
The construction of two pre-fabricated buildings commenced on March 18 under the direct supervision of SLAF Commander Air Marshal Sumangala Dias.
Due to the continuous construction that is being done on a 24-hour basis by the engineering team from the SLAF Directorate of Engineering, the project is expected to be completed well in advance of the previously planned two week period, the SLAF said in a statement.
The new isolation facility is expected to have 16 isolation rooms.
