Employees of Sri Lanka Administrative Services Association (SLASA) have warned of resuming their strike action on September 23 and 24 if their salary anomalies are not resolved.
SLASA Secretary Rohana de Silva told Times Online that the ongoing strike has been called off from today (Sept 18) and that employees would restrict themselves from engaging in additional duties until Monday.
He noted that this decision had been taken after the Cabinet Sub-Committee which had been appointed to look into their issues had submitted its report to cabinet yesterday (Sept 17).
"The report has been sent to the Finance Ministry for further action," he said.
Mr. Silva pointed out that both the former and current governments have failed to resolve their salary anomalies which have existed since 2012.
