The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will hold talks with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in two weeks to decide on the symbol through which they would contest at the general election.
The SLFP had inked an agreement with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) which nominated Rajapaksa as a presidential candidate, to jointly contest the general election under the common symbol of a Chair.
However, certain SLPP members have lately opined that they should contest the parliamentary poll under the symbol of a flower bud - the symbol of the SLPP.
Accordingly, SLFP's Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa said that they would discuss the matter with Rajapaksa and arrive at a final decision in that regard.
